Amir Eshel (

website) is professor of German Studies and Comparative Literature at Stanford University. His research is on postwar German culture, German-Jewish history and culture from the Enlightenment to the present, and literary theory. Professor Eshel is the author of
Zeit der Zäsur. Jüdische Lyriker im Angesicht der Shoah (1999).
