Matthew Kadane is Assistant Professor of History at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He has published on entrepreneurship and material acquisitiveness in eighteenth-century Protestant Europe. Professor Kadane’s current book project concerns the diary of Leeds clothier and dissenter Joseph Ryder (1695-1768).
