Bruce Robbins is the Old Dominion Foundation Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University. His recent publications include Upward Mobility and the Common Good: Toward a Literary History of the Welfare State, Immanuel Wallerstein and the Problem of the World (coedited with David Palumbo-Liu and Nirvana Tanoukhi), and Perpetual War: Cosmopolitanism from the Viewpoint of Violence. He is also the director of a documentary entitled Some of My Best Friends Are Zionists.
